Job summary

Bayview in Seattle is seeking a part-time food services waitstaff member to support dining operations. You will work with residents and staff, maintain cleanliness, and ensure gracious service in a senior living setting.

This position requires English communication, food handling knowledge, and a valid Washington Food Handler permit. We offer a benefits package and an on-site dining program.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English with residents, staff and managers.
• Familiarity with safe food handling practices and regulations.
• Holds current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and work areas.
• Cross-train and be available to perform duties in all three food service areas (washing dishes, pots/pans, cleaning work areas).
• Assist as requested with other Food Service tasks.

The Dishwasher assists in maintaining the kitchen dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, equipment, and work areas clean, orderly and sanitary. Although the Dishwasher may be assigned to specialize in one of three areas (i.e., washing dishes, washing pots and pans, or cleaning work areas), you are expected to cross‑trained and available to perform the duties in all three areas as well as to assist as requested with other Food Service tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to communicate in English with residents, staff and managers.
• Familiarity with safe food handling practices and regulations.
• Holds current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.
• Demonstrates patience, a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly and disabled persons, flexibility, a positive outlook, the ability to focus on the strengths of other people, and a healthy sense of humor.
