Job summary

PJ Whelihan’s Pub + Restaurant in Medford Lakes, NJ is hiring dishwashers to maintain clean flatware, glassware and kitchen equipment. You will also assist in light food prep, trash removal, and parking lot upkeep in a fast-paced dining environment.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with managers and staff.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).

Responsibilities

• Wash flatware, tableware, glassware, pots and pans.
• Place all clean dishes in storage or on shelves on the line.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dish area.
• Sort and remove trash, replace bags and wash cans as needed.
• Clean and prepare foods for cooking or serving as instructed by the manager.
• Portion food products according to standard sizes and recipes.
• Keep all equipment clean and in good condition.
• Sweep the parking lot daily in all weather conditions.
• Load or unload trucks for delivery and rotate stored items.
• Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
• Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for the dishwasher.
• Attend scheduled employee meetings and offer improvement suggestions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
