Job summary

LOCAL Public Eatery in Seattle is hiring for a weekend dishwash role. The base wage is $21.30/hour plus a tip pool, with typical tips ranging from $1.70 to $3.70 per hour. You’ll be part of a fast-paced kitchen team, maintaining cleanliness and safety while supporting the front and back of house.

We require weekend availability, a proactive attitude, and the ability to obtain a local/state Food Handler permit. No prior experience needed; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and partners.
• Set up, clean, polish, and break down the dish machine; change the dishwater periodically.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other equipment and stock areas.
• Exercise sanitation practices for dish handling and keep area clean, sanitary and safe.
• Monitor dish machine to ensure wash/rinse temps meet safety standards.
• Ensure sanitizer temps and ppm levels comply with health code.
• Complete opening, side work, and closing duties to set team up for success.
• Follow instructions for safe use of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds and report issues to leadership.
• Follow all food service and handling safety precautions.

Wage Scale

$21.30/hour + tips

This position will earn a base hourly rate equivalent to the City of Seattle's minimum wage - $21.30/hour - and will be eligible to participate in our company tip pool. Our tip pool distributions fluctuate, and we cannot guarantee a certain distribution. However, employees generally earn between $1.70 and $3.70 in tips per hour.

Duties

• Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and fellow partners.
• Set up, clean, polish, and break down the dish machine; change the dishwater periodically.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other equipment then stock and organize to their designated areas.
• Exercise required sanitation practices for dish handling by maintaining the dish area in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
• Monitor the dish machine to ensure wash and rinse cycles do not fall below safety standard temperatures.
• Ensure the temperatures and ppm levels of sanitizers in the dish machine and sinks always comply with health code.
• Complete assigned opening, side work, and closing duties to set your team up for success and support the kitchen team as needed.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds. Report any equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately.
• Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.
