Job summary

Hotel Equities, through its Bamboo Bar at the White Sands Hotel in Honolulu, HI, seeks a dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward to maintain cleanliness and support the culinary team. This on-site role focuses on sanitation, efficiency, and safe handling of kitchen waste, with flexible hours to fit a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Required are strong work ethic and reliability, with preferred experience in kitchen stewardship and food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen steward or similar role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving heavy items.
• Basic understanding of sanitation and safety standards in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing stations, and storage areas throughout the shift.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables according to established procedures and maintain waste areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and restock kitchen supplies as needed to support smooth operations.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen management team promptly.
• Collaborate with other kitchen and service team members to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
