Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a part-time High School Dishwasher to support a safe, organized school kitchen during meal service. This role handles washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes while assisting the food service team and interacting respectfully with students and staff.

The ideal candidate follows sanitation procedures, can work both independently and as part of a team, and maintains cleanliness and safety in a busy school environment. Prior dishwashing experience is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, trays, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the commercial dishwasher and follow procedures for water temperature, sanitizer use, and safe equipment operation.
• Collect and organize used trays and dishes during meal service.
• Clean and sanitize dishwashing areas, sinks, counters, carts, and other assigned kitchen surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling and clean containers as assigned.
• Sweep and mop floors and help maintain clean serving and storage areas.
• Restock clean trays, utensils, and other supplies needed for meal service.
• Report equipment problems, sanitation concerns, and supply needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Follow district food safety procedures and all applicable health department requirements.
• Assist with meal service and other kitchen support tasks as needed.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and interact courteously with students and staff.

Job Title: High School Dishwasher
Reports to: High School Kitchen Manager and Food Service Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Status: Part time, 2.5 hours per day

Basic Function

The High School Dishwasher keeps dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and ready for meal service. This position supports a safe, organized kitchen and helps the food service team serve students efficiently.

Essential Functions

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, trays, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the commercial dishwasher and follow procedures for water temperature, sanitizer use, and safe equipment operation.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a school kitchen and dishwashing area. The position involves exposure to water, heat, steam, noise, cleaning chemicals, and commercial kitchen equipment. Regular workdays follow the Board-approved school calendar.

Position Options

This position is scheduled for 2.5 hours per day. It may be combined with High School Point of Sale duties to create a 4-hour-per-day position, depending on staffing needs and the selected candidate's qualifications.
