Job summary

Sodexo, located at THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM, is seeking a Dishwasher to support kitchen and facility operations. You’ll maintain cleanliness and sanitation across food production and service areas, and help with basic set-up and break-down as directed.

The role requires standing for long periods, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to work varying shifts. Full-time employment with benefits is offered, and prior experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience required.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and basic concepts of food safety.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or uses a dishwashing machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment using chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
• Restocks supplies such as soap and cleaning materials.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Able to walk or stand for extended periods, possibly over 8 hours.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attends work and arrives on time for scheduled shifts.
