Job summary

Onni is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to support our kitchen team in Chicago. You will wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, and equipment, maintain the cleanliness of the dish area, and assist with basic prep tasks during busy periods, ensuring smooth service.

No prior experience required; we value reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to stand for long shifts in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; restaurant or BOH experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans according to health code standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, including dish machines, sinks, floors, and storage areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and report any malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Keep trash and recycling areas clean; remove garbage and break down boxes as needed.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces) per daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Ensure proper chemical handling and sanitation practices in compliance with Illinois Public Health guidelines.
• Restock clean plates, utensils, and kitchen tools to the appropriate stations.
• Support prep cooks and line cooks with basic tasks when required (e.g., peeling vegetables, transporting items).
• Follow all restaurant safety protocols, including proper lifting, PPE, and food safety procedures.
