Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Wallingford, CT, seeks a dependable Dishwasher to support dishwashing and overall cleanliness in our metro food production facility. You will follow SOPs and safety rules to keep wares, equipment, and work areas sanitary and organized.

The role involves washing, sanitizing, and proper storage of items, maintaining floors and racks, and assisting with opening/closing duties in a climate of fast-paced service. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and procedures, effective time management and organization skills.
• Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and smallwares.
• Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored in their designated spots on the clean racks.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, walls, and shelves in the dish area.
• Clean dish room using hot water, hoses, cleaning chemicals, scrub pads, and brushes according to established SOPs and to meet company standards.
• Empty trash containers and replace liners in the dish room and elsewhere in the facility as communicated by facility leadership.
• Replenish dish room supplies as needed. Notify Team Member responsible for purchasing supplies of any impending shortages before supplies are exhausted.
• Utilize cleaning checklists and adhere to Safety and Master Sanitation Schedule Operating Procedures.
• Follow established hazardous material safety procedures.
• Comply with established procedures, including health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Practice safe use of tools and equipment required by position.
• Practice proper care and maintenance of equipment.
• Help with any cleaning emergencies that occur in the facility.
• Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy to facility leadership for correction and report all accidents and injuries to Team Leader or facility leadership immediately.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and other duties/special projects as assigned by facility leadership.
