Milestone Retirement in Elk Grove, CA seeks a dedicated Dishwasher to support a safe, clean dining environment and assist in daily service. You will sanitize and store dishes, transport items, and help maintain a smooth dining operation for residents and staff.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and professional interaction with residents and families. Candidates should be 18+, meet health requirements, and obtain required permits as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Meet health requirements including health screening and TB clearance.
• Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check.
• First Aid certification required.
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, plan and organize tasks.
• Self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic.
• Pleasant, professional, and personable with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room.
• Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area.
• Clear, wash, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items.
• Return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas.
• Ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers; comply with Safety Committee Standards.
• Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains.
• Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules.
• Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed.
• Maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
• Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors.
• Provide support during community tours and events.
• Follow dress code and maintain a positive professional image.
• Report elder maltreatment or abuse as required to appropriate management and authorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Culinary Services.
