Job summary

HHS is seeking friendly, team-oriented individuals to join the Murray Calloway County Hospital cafe as a Dishwasher / Cashier. The role is hourly, with shifts day, evening, and night available, and requires background checks and employment eligibility in the U.S.

You will maintain a clean kitchen, assist with stocking, sanitation, and operate dishwashing and cash handling duties, with wage range $13.50–$14.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
• Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, and storeroom.
• Put away deliveries, label and date products, and break down boxes.
• Stock and monitor towels and soap dispensers throughout the shift.
• Clean and return all kitchen equipment and serving ware in a timely manner.
• Set up and maintain a 3-compartment sink and dish machine.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot clean floors and high-traffic areas.
• Monitor and empty trash cans.
• Adhere to the facility's health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.
• Cater to all customer needs and treat every customer with respect, friendliness, and a smile.
• Balance the cash drawer and discuss discrepancies with management.
• Stock and monitor supply levels of condiments, utensils, and grab-and-go items.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment for the hospital cafeteria. Sanitize all pots, pans, utensils, and equipment in a timely manner. Support stocking and inventories by shelving and organizing delivered food and items.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously, pushing dish racks, frequent stooping, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
• Preferred: Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare, dishwasher, housekeeping, janitor, custodian)
