Job summary

Pura Vida Miami Llc is seeking a dedicated dishwasher to support a fast-paced kitchen. You will wash dishes and cookware, sanitize items to health standards, and keep the dish area clean and organized. You may assist with deliveries and storage, and you will have opportunities to cross-train across roles to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher is preferred but not required.
• Dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines and handling pots/pans.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure items are cleaned and sanitized per health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, floors, walls and countertops.
• Operate and report issues with dishwashing equipment to Kitchen Manager.
• Restock cleaning supplies and organize clean dishes and equipment.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and store them appropriately.
• Cross-train across roles to support team growth and contribution.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.
• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.
• Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.
• Show willingness and ability to cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to ensure rapid growth in responsibilities and contribution to team success.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Must be familiar with the measurement system.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend and reach overhead often.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
