Job summary

Remington Hotels in Austin is seeking a motivated Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher to keep plates, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans clean and organized while maintaining an orderly kitchen.

You will operate the dish machine, assist with banquet events, follow MSDS safety protocols, and support the team to deliver great guest experiences every day.

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use established guidelines to keep all kitchen items clean and organized.
• Correctly utilize and maintain dish machine to wash glasses and dishes.
• Ensure daily cleaning of kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping, walls, and spills.
• Empty heavy trash cans and replace bags after cleaning.
• Follow MSDS protocols and safety guidelines.
• Assist with banquet events as directed by supervisor.

What you will be doing

• Use established guidelines to keep all kitchen items such as plates, glassware, utensils, pots and pans as well as the general kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Correctly utilize and maintain dish machine to wash glasses and dishes in standard dish rack; wash pots and pans only in the pot washer's area.
• Ensure that all cleaning is performed daily to keep the kitchen neat, clean, and organized at all times; this includes sweeping, mopping, wiping down walls, and cleaning up spills or any broken glass/dishes.
• Empty full and heavy trash cans. Make sure they are sprayed and sanitized after each use. Place new trash bags in the container after each cleaning.
• Follow all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) protocols, as well as Safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties in areas of Kitchen as assigned, including assisting with banquet events as directed by supervisor.
