Sanford Health is seeking a Steward to maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, wash dishes, and stock wares in a hospital kitchen. The role requires adherence to HACCP guidelines and strong attention to food safety protocols.

This full-time position involves night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed, with varied schedules across United States hospital facilities. Candidates should be at least 16 years old and able to read and follow directions; on-the-job training is provided.

• Store wares properly and stock dishes, pots, pans, and glassware.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks including dry storage, walk-in shelves, and exhaust hoods.
• Work independently when necessary and be on feet for most of the day; night/weekend/holiday shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• The Steward is responsible for certain duties including, but not limited to, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and cleaning dishes.
• Job Description Complies with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service.
• Maintains quality control standards.
• Cleans, sanitizes and properly stocks of all dishes, pots, pans, flatware and glassware.
• Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas.
• Performs daily cleaning to include dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods and exhaust system.
• Empties the kitchen trash receptacles and properly disposes of garbage.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Possesses ability to work independently when necessary.
• Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
• Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications
