Job summary

Sifted is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter to join our culinary team in a fast-paced commercial kitchen. You will work alongside an experienced executive chef, helping maintain cleanliness and food safety standards while supporting lunch service for startups.

Ideal candidates are dependable team players with a can-do attitude, willing to learn, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekly duties include dishwashing, receiving shipments, basic prep, and communication with the chef and manager.

Qualifications

• Must have ServSafe Food Handler certification.
• Experience in dishwashing or kitchen porter roles preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and sanitation of dishes, utensils, and surfaces.
• Receiving and storing food shipments and organizing storage areas.
• Cleaning and organizing walk-in and dry storage areas.
• Closing duties including trash management and recycling.

Job description

Sifted is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter on our culinary team. We provide daily lunch for some of the hottest startups. We need an extra team member in our kitchen who works well in a fast-paced environment and can help us maintain our food safety and cleanliness standards!

In this role, you will work side by side with an experienced executive chef in our commissary kitchen. If you have a desire to learn, are a dedicated and responsible team player, and are looking to cultivate your skills in the kitchen, we want to meet you!

What you'll be doing

• Dishwashing
• Receiving and storing food shipments
• Cleaning and organizing walk in and dry storage
• Cleaning and closing duties (trash, cardboard)
• Light food prep
• Communicating with chef and manager about any kitchen related issues
• Has worked in previous kitchen roles such as line cook, prep/dishwasher, porter
• Has had experience with catering and event servicing
• Has the ability to bend, twist, and stand
• Has the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Compensation : $23 per hour
• Company-sponsored health insurance plans, including 100% company-paid HDHP, as well as vision + dental opt-in
• 80 hours of PTO with each year of employment; paid winter break from Dec 24 - Jan 1
• Free lunch during meal service
