Job summary

Arlo Hotels in New York is seeking a dynamic Dishwasher/Porter who will help keep our kitchen clean and organized and support a high-standard dining experience.

You will wash dishes, maintain sanitation, and assist in daily operations while handling supplies, trash and floor care with attention to health and safety standards. The role requires physical stamina and reliable English communication.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years+ experience as dishwasher/porter in a restaurant or hotel.
• Basic understanding of the English language.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stay on feet for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Put away all dishes, glassware, plastic containers, pots and pans clean, dry and grease-free.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with a hand truck.
• Clean garbage cans with water and cleaning supplies per MSDS.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Place clean dishes and cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas.
• Sweep, scrub and mop floors.
• Ensure no standing water on the kitchen floor and restock towels/soap at handwashing sinks.
• Weekly deep cleaning of ice machines and daily spot cleaning.

Dishwasher / Porter are directly responsible for the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is the first thing a diner sees. Ensuring that all items used within the kitchen is cleaned to standards.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• All dishes, glassware, plastic containers,potsand pans must be put away clean, dry and grease free in a neat and organized manner
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
• Clean garbage cans with water and proper MSDS cleaning supplies
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderlycondition.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Sweep,scruband mop floors.
• At no time should there be standing water on the floor anywhere in thekitchen;as per the health code violation.
• Responsibilities to ensure all papertowels,soap are refilled at every handwashing sink throughout the kitchen.
• Weekly deep cleaning of both ice machines also daily spot cleaning

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have 2 years + experience as dishwasher/porter at a comparable restaurant or hotel.
• Must have a basic understanding of the English language
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to stay on your feet for 8hoursplus

Knowledge

Must have basic knowledge of sanitation procedures
