Job summary

Arlo Hotels in New York is actively seeking a dynamic Dishwasher/Porter. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and kitchen areas, ensuring all items are cleaned to standards.

Responsibilities include washing dishes, organizing wares, stocking supplies, and upholding sanitation throughout the kitchen. Must have 2+ years of dishwasher/porter experience and be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for 8 hours, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as dishwasher/porter in a restaurant or hotel.
• Basic understanding of English.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, and pans; keep areas clean and organized.
• Ensure clean, dry, grease-free wares are stored properly.
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas.
• Clean garbage cans and maintain sanitation of kitchen.
• Keep kitchen work areas and utensils clean and orderly.
• Sort and remove trash and sweep/mop floors.

Dishwasher/ Porter are directly responsible for the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is the first thing a diner sees. Ensuring that all items used within the kitchen is cleaned to standards.

RESONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• All dishes, glassware, plastic containers,potsand pans must be put away clean, dry and grease free in a neat and organized manner
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
• Clean garbage cans with water and proper MSDS cleaning supplies
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderlycondition.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Sweep,scruband mop floors.
• At no time should there be standing water on the floor anywhere in thekitchen;as per the health code violation.
• Responsibilities to ensure all papertowels,soap are refilled at every handwashing sink throughout the kitchen.
• Weekly deep cleaning of both ice machines also daily spot cleaning

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have 2 years + experience as dishwasher/porter at a comparable restaurant or hotel.
• Must have a basic understanding of the English language
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to stay on your feet for 8hoursplus

Knowledge:

Must have basic knowledge of sanitation procedures
