Job summary

Yona Solutions is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our team in Indiana. The role involves basic food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining sanitary kitchen areas in line with health regulations.

You will support cooks and chefs, ensure clean equipment and spaces, and assist with food prep as directed. This position requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and good communication to serve residents and staff effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a dishwasher.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Friendly with good communication skills.
• Good physical condition and stamina.

Responsibilities

• Receives, collects soiled dishes; washes dishes according to sanitary guidelines and rules.
• Cleans equipment as assigned by chef or cook.
• Help with basic food preparation under direction of chef or cook as directed, in compliance with Safe food handling.
• Maintains dishwashing areas and dishware storage areas in clean condition at all times in accordance with rules and regulations and as directed by chef.
• Cleans workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to department procedures.
• Loads and unloads the dishwasher; stores clean equipment and dishes in designated areas.
• Uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient manner to prevent waste.
• Uses food preparation equipment properly and follows proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Communicates with Chef or Cook throughout the shift as needed to best meet needs of the residents.
• Attends in-service education as assigned and applies information to job tasks.
• Complies with the Community's Confidentiality and Privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state/federal privacy laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a dishwasher.
• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• Friendly with good communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus
• Must provide a criminal background check
