Job summary

Lakeview Village in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Full Time Dishwasher to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen, supporting residents with quality dining services. Duties include scrapping and washing dishes by hand or in the machine, proper storage, daily cleaning of the dish and prep areas, and assisting with food preparation as needed.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred; ability to read and understand English; empathetic attitude toward the elderly; teamwork; and adherence

  • Lifts and moves food stock items and ensures proper storage.

  • Collaborates with inter-department staff to support dining programs.
  • Upholds Residents' rights and ensures respectful service.

Lakeview's Dishwasher maintains a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen environment to ensure that assigned areas, dishes, utensils, and other kitchen tools are kept at the highest degree of cleanliness at all times. Contributes to the residents’ quality of life by assisting in providing exceptional dining services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools, then washes them by hand or places them in the dish machine, while using proper infection control procedures.
  • Ensures that dishes, utensils, and pans are all stored in the proper place.
  • Ensures that the dish room, utility room, food preparation area, and other storage areas are clean, orderly, and free from any standing water.
  • Assists with food preparation as needed.
  • Lifts, moves, stores, and counts food stock items. Ensures that food is correctly storied in accordance with established procedures.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements of the Local, State, and Federal jurisdictions. Adheres to all safety requirements established by Lakeview Village.
  • Maintains proper uniform and hygiene according to established procedures for food and beverage personnel.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that Dining Service programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of facility and residents.
  • Ensures that Resident’s Rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to express grievances are followed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and read English when performing work duties which require this need.
  • Must have a full understanding an effective application of:
    • Sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures.
    • Cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
    • The awareness of right-to-know issues
    • Use of HACCP protocols
    • Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
  • Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
