Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher for Avamere at Cheyenne to maintain kitchen sanitation, operate commercial dishwashers, and ensure safe, clean dishware for residents across memory care and other dining services.

You will work with culinary and dietary staff, follow OSHA and health guidelines, and help with basic food prep when needed. The role requires experience in food service sanitation, strong hygiene, and CPR/BLS and a current Food Handlers card.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and hair restraint.
• Interpersonal skills to work with department staff and other departments.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• CPR/BLS certification required and maintained during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by the local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and regulations in long-term care facilities.

Job Summary

A dishwasher in a senior living facility maintains kitchen sanitation, operates commercial dishwashers, and ensures all dishware is safely sanitized for residents. They play a vital role in preventing illness and supporting the daily dietary operations across independent living, assisted living, and memory care environments. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and organization within the community’s dining services department. This role directly supports the health, safety, and well-being of our residents, particularly those with heightened vulnerabilities in our memory care neighborhood.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Sanitation & Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashers and 3-compartment sinks, ensuring proper water temperatures and chemical sanitization levels are met according to state health codes.
• Meal Service Support: Scrape, wash, and sanitize all dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and trays following each meal service.
• Facility Cleanliness: Maintain impeccably clean work and dining areas, including sweeping/mopping floors, wiping down countertops, cleaning kitchen walls, and taking out garbage to designated dumpsters.
• Safety Protocols: Handle all kitchenware, chemicals, and equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA and community guidelines.
• Specialized Memory Care Support: Handle dishware in memory care dining areas with care, ensuring a calm, quiet, and supportive environment for residents experiencing cognitive decline.
• Stocking & Storage: Air-dry and promptly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas to maintain an orderly kitchen.
• Team Assistance: Assist the culinary and dietary staff with basic food preparation, plating, or retrieving supplies when needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety at a level normally acquired through on-the-job training.
• Requires maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships with department workers and with other departments.
• Skill and ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must possess an active CPR/BLS Certification and always maintain certification during employment.
• Requires a current Food Handlers card issued by the local Health Department.
• Be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and pertaining to long-term care facility.
