The Dishwasher’s main functions are to ensure that dishes, pots, and pans are constantly clean and properly stored. The Dishwasher is also responsible for maintaining the restaurant’s overall cleanliness.

Duties And Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Load and unload the dishwashing machine appropriately and efficiently.
• Set the correct temperature and use the appropriate amount of dishwashing liquid.
• Take out the trash and ensure it is securely disposed of in dumpsters.
• Sweep, mop, and ensure the dishwashing area is neat, organized, and sanitized. Wipe down all food areas.
• Assist in food preparation and service procedures as needed.
• Ensure employee restrooms are clean and tidy for each shift.
• Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house areas including dining room, restrooms, windows, ventilation, sidewalks, and facade.
• Assist in organizing kitchen areas, managing deliveries, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Have working knowledge of dishwasher and prep cook functions.
• Maintain station cleanliness and adhere to zoning procedures.
• Follow strict health and hygiene standards, including HAACP guidelines.
• Use kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Promote teamwork and interact professionally with colleagues.
• Uphold company policies, mission, and vision, and foster a positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; restaurant experience preferred; 1-year related experience or training preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer service orientation.
• Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to define problems, analyze data, and interpret technical instructions.
• Work environment involves exposure to heat, chemicals, and moderate noise.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks regularly.
