Job summary

Village of Meyerland is seeking a reliable Dishwasher/Utility Worker to support a senior community kitchen. This full-time role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 pounds, and working weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, cleaning and stocking items, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen and dining area under leadership direction.

Qualifications

• Able to work in hot, wet, humid environments and loud settings.
• Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine efficiently and safely.
• Keep dish machine clean and report issues.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware for dining room and kitchen.
• Clean food prep and production areas as required.
• Perform general cleaning to maintain sanitary environment.
• Assist kitchen leadership to support smooth operations.

Location: Village of Meyerland, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Full Time

Must be available on weekends and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload the dish machine efficiently.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical issues immediately.
• Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware to ensure adequate levels of clean items for the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by management or leadership to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environments for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, reach, bend, and stoop; work in a standing position for long periods; and safely lift bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.
• Maintain exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must be able to work holidays.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
