Job summary

Rokkaku Hamakatsu in Hawaii is seeking a part-time dishwasher to support weekend and holiday service. You will wash utensils, pots and pans and help keep the kitchen clean and organized.

Ideal candidates are friendly, hardworking and able to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and wear non-slip shoes. Weekend shifts including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand/walk/bend/stoop/climb/push/pull/twist/stretch/squat/reach, carry and lift up to 70lbs.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from kitchen areas.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines.
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate dishes).
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately.
• Set up workstations before meal prep begins.
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary.
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues.
• Remove garbage regularly.
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.
