The Fresno EOCPortal is seeking a Dishwasher/Cambro Washer to maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment in line with CDPH food safety standards. You will support kitchen staff and ensure a well-organized workspace in the cambro wash area.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, a Food Handlers card (or obtain within 30 days), and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are required to meet program needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Food Handlers card required or obtained within 30 days.
  • Experience: 1 year of related work in food production preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, igloos and equipment per CDPH regulations.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables according to local guidelines.
  • Set up and maintain pressure washer and spray equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations throughout shifts.
  • Store all utensils and containers properly and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Report malfunctions of dishwashing equipment to management.
  • Maintain sanitation levels and comply with health codes.

SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the assigned supervisor, the Dishwasher/Cambro washer is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and cambro wash area including washing dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, insulated containers and igloos. This position ensures the safe handling of kitchen tools, pressure washer machine and compliance with food safety regulations. The dishwasher/cambro washer supports kitchen staff by maintaining the cleanliness of food prep and cook utensils and contributing to an organized kitchen environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, igloos and insulated containers and kitchen equipment in accordance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) food safety regulations.

Properly dispose of food waste and recyclables, collect and recycle/dispose of salt rock, adhering to local waste management guidelines.

Properly set up and maintain pressure washer machine, hose and spray gun.

Maintain clean and organized workstations, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces throughout shifts.

Assist kitchen staff in cleaning food utensil storage areas, including hotel pan storage rack, sheet pan storage areas.

Properly store all kitchen utensils, hotel pans, sheet pans, ice sheets, insulated containers, and igloos in designated area.

Handle and store cleaning chemicals, and fuel, following OSHA regulations and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Check and maintain industrial dishwashing equipment, pressure washer machine, reporting any malfunctions to kitchen management.

Perform routine checks on sanitation levels in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health codes and restaurant standards.

Ensure new equipment as in hotel pans, sheet pans, insulated containers, and igloos get properly cleaned and sanitized before use and storage.

Maintains a friendly and professional atmosphere. Represents Fresno EOC in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Attends training and meetings pertaining to program needs or professional development.

Travels for agency business using reliable transportation.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations.

Basic understanding of food safety standards.

Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities in the kitchen, to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.
