Job Overview

The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and janitorial duties in areas dedicated to food production and consumption, including the kitchen, dining room, bistro, private dining room, serveries/pantries, and other designated locations. Responsibilities include dish and pot washing, cleaning of kitchen equipment and general areas, and proper storage and rotation of food and supplies, all while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards and maintaining a safe, organized kitchen.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Maintain dish and pot washing areas; operate dish machines according to manufacturer instructions.
• Properly wash and sanitize dishes, china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
• Keep accurate logs of dish machine and sink temperatures, sanitation, and equipment issues.
• Perform kitchen cleaning duties, including cleaning equipment and maintaining cleaning logs.
• Clean kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods, and ventilation screens.
• Carry out janitorial duties like sweeping, mopping, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
• Assist with food preparation and plating as needed.
• Ensure proper storage of all cookware, china, glassware, utensils, and supplies.
• Assist with receiving, storing, dating, labeling, and rotating food and non-food supplies.
• Follow OSHA and local health regulations, safety policies, and use PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures.
• Perform additional Dining Services duties as assigned, such as cleaning and maintaining dining areas, bussing and resetting tables, and serving light meals.

Qualifications:

• Preferably 1 year of relevant experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Training/certificates such as CPR, First Aid, ServSafe Food Handler, and local health department food handler cards may be required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
