Job summary

Bridgeside Restaurant in Cascade Locks, OR is seeking a full-time dish and general utility helper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of china, glassware, tableware and utensils, using machine and manual methods. The role also keeps the dishwashing area clean, safe, and sanitary, and may assist with other kitchen cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities include sorting and rinsing, stacking and delivering clean dishes, changing dishwater regularly, and supporting the kitchen staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
• Background check is required.

Summary

The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility. The employee will also occasionally help with cleaning the rest of the kitchen.

Essential Functions

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
• Change dishwater in dish machine regularly.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
