Job description

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Dishwasher to join our team. As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen and community have a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. Your duties will include prioritizing loads of different types of kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher, and placing dishes to dry.

What You’ll Do

Organize

• Wash and inspect all dishware and glassware.
• Store clean utensils, dishes, and glassware in proper places.
• Keep the dishwashing machine and dish room in clean, working condition.
• Promptly report any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to the Food Service Manager.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen area and waitstaff station, and clean filters over stove areas.
• Deliver ice to the dining room. Assist waitstaff with serving and bringing dishes to the kitchen when necessary. Deliver meals to residents in their apartments, when needed.
• Perform assigned cleaning tasks according to established policies, using proper cleaning chemicals.
• Keep work areas clean and uncluttered.
• Ensure dishes are readily available for the next meal.
• Store dishes properly to prevent contamination.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Education

• High School diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills to fulfill position responsibilities.
• Ability to read schedules, menus, and instructions related to the position.
• Ability to work in a team, flexible shifts, and communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Experience with equipment including, but not limited to, dishwasher, mop, sponge, dish scrubber, and cleaning chemicals.
