Job summary

Marriott Madison West is seeking a reliable Hotel Dishwasher to join our Culinary & Food & Beverage team. You will help maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in our main kitchen, banquets/catering facilities, and staff dining areas.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment, washing china, glassware, and utensils; sorting and storing clean items; and assisting with heavy cleaning tasks in ovens, grills, and walk-ins.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop for a full shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy items safely.
• Work well in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Hotel Dishwasher to join our Culinary & Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout our main kitchen, banquets/catering facilities, and staff dining areas. You will ensure all cookware, tableware, glassware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored to support smooth hotel dining operations.

Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Sanitation

• Operate, clean, and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment according to hotel safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Wash, sanitize, and store all china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils promptly and efficiently.
• Sort and stack clean dishes and transport them to proper storage areas or service stations throughout the hotel (main restaurant, banquet halls, room service, bar).
• Scrape food debris, soak items when necessary, and ensure proper chemical dilution levels in dishwashing machines and manual sink bays.

Kitchen Maintenance & Cleanliness

• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and food preparation surfaces as assigned.
• Empty all kitchen trash cans, recycling bins, and compost containers; transport waste to dumpster areas and maintain trash receptacles.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen mats, floor drains, grease traps, and food waste disposal units.
• Assist with heavy cleaning tasks, including ovens, grills, deep fryers, hoods, and walk-in coolers/freezers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior dishwashing, kitchen utility, or hotel/restaurant experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift continuously for an entire shift.
• Lifting Ability: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs (e.g., racks of dishes, heavy pots, trash bags).
• Environment: Ability to work in a hot, humid, and wet environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and noise.
• Teamwork: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
