Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a part-time dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and to support meal delivery to patients. The role involves handling dishes, working with food safety standards, and collaborating with dietary staff to ensure timely service.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma (or equivalent) and may need a Food Handler Certificate. Benefits include day-one eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing career

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv (preferred).
• Food Safety Handler Certificate preferred or as required by state.
• Food Handler Certificate (FHC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Prepare items for washing by scraping and presoaking; ensure soil is removed before washing.
• Deliver patient trays and late trays accurately and on time following protocols.
• Transport patient meal carts to and from nursing units and maintain cart cleanliness.
• Restock serviceware and monitor sanitation logs and chemical usage.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper techniques and chemical concentrations to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Prepare items for washing by scraping and presoaking, ensuring all visible soil is removed before running through the dish machine for effective sanitization.
• Deliver patient trays and late trays accurately and on time, following identification protocols and confidentiality policies.
• Transport patient meal carts and bulk nourishment carts to and from nursing units, maintaining cleanliness of all carts and equipment.
• Restock clean serviceware to designated locations using correct handling procedures, and monitor dishroom sanitation logs, chemical usage, and equipment performance to ensure compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
