Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is seeking a Part-Time Dish Lead to supervise the dish room during meal service at CenterPointe Dining, coordinating tasks and guiding the team to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will train staff on dish room procedures, food safety, chemical safety and PPE, monitor cleanliness and sanitation, and ensure equipment, sinks, and waste areas are orderly and ready for the next service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dish room or fast-paced food service is preferred.
• Ability to lead a diverse team with respectful direction.
• Ability to follow safety, food-safety and chemical-label procedures.
• Able to stay organized and calm in a busy, wet environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead dish room staff during meal service, assign tasks, and prioritize work.
• Ensure safe operation of the dish machine and related equipment.
• Train and coach staff on procedures, safety, PPE, and footwear.
• Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and safe practices across sinks and work areas.
• Assist with scraping, sorting, loading/unloading, and storing dishes and equipment.
• Communicate supply needs and issues to the supervisor to finish service clean.
