Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation seeks a reliable Dishwasher to ensure meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. You will wash and dry all dishes, glasses, and silverware and check they are stocked throughout your shift. You will also sweep and mop floors, remove trash, and assist the chef as needed.

Load/unload the dishwasher, clean glassware, organize kitchen items, and report issues to management. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work in a hot, humid environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some kitchen experience is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Able to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for 8‑hour shifts.
• Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently.
• Wash glassware and various kitchen items by hand when necessary.
• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily.
• Organize and manage the placement of all kitchen items and dishes.
• Perform basic janitorial tasks to clean up spills or broken glass immediately.
• Report sanitation or janitorial issues to management.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable Dishwasher to ensure our meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. You will clean and dry all dishes, glasses, and silverware and check that they are stocked properly throughout your shift. While on duty, you must ensure that the dish room is kept clean and that equipment is stored properly. You will also be responsible for sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen area, removing trash, and gathering soiled linens from tables at the end of each meal service and anything else that the chef needs assistance with.

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently

• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily
• Organize and manage the placement of all kitchen items and dishes
• Perform basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc. immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to management

Dishwasher Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
• Some experience in a professional kitchen is a plus
• Able to safely operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 20 lbs
• Able to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for 8‑hour shifts
• Flexible schedule
