Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to ensure all meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. You will clean and dry dishes, glasses, and silverware and check stock levels throughout your shift while keeping the dish room clean and organized.

You will also sweep and mop floors, remove trash, and assist with gathering soiled linens. The role requires safe operation of equipment and the ability to work in a hot, humid kitchen environment, with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.
• Experience in a professional kitchen is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate industrial machinery and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment and stand for 8-hour shifts.
• Flexible schedule required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently.
• Wash glassware and kitchen items by hand when necessary.
• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily.
• Organize and manage the placement of kitchen items and dishes.
• Perform basic janitorial duties to clean spills and broken glass immediately.
• Report sanitation or janitorial issues to management.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable Dishwasher to ensure our meal service dishes are clean and ready to serve. You will clean and dry all dishes, glasses, and silverware and check that they are stocked properly throughout your shift. While on duty, you must ensure that the dish room is kept clean and that equipment is stored properly. You will also be responsible for sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen area, removing trash, and gathering soiled linens from tables at the end of each meal service and anything else that the chef needs assistance with.

Dishwasher Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload dishwasher safely and efficiently
• Wash glassware and various kitchen items by hand, when necessary
• Clean iced tea and coffee machines daily
• Organize and manage the placement of all kitchen items and dishes
• Perform basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc. immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to management

Dishwasher Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
• Some experience in a professional kitchen is a plus
• Able to safely operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 20 lbs
