Make a difference in public health by joining the Louisiana Department of Health's Region 8 Tuberculosis (TB) Program! In this rewarding role, you'll help protect communities by conductingcommunicable disease intervention activities related to tuberculosis prevention, surveillance, treatment support, and contact investigations throughout the region. Under the supervision of the Disease Intervention Specialist 4, the incumbent conducts field investigations, performs case management and follow-up activities, and coordinates directly observed therapy (DOT) for TB patients and contacts.
This position works closely with healthcare providers, hospitals, correctional facilities, detention centers, laboratories, local health units, and community partners to support TB control efforts and ensure compliance with state and CDC guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for timely documentation, data entry, reporting, and coordination of services related to TB prevention and treatment activities.
