Job summary

OpenRoad Drury Moss LLC is seeking a motivated Discovery Technician to inspect vehicles after a collision, identify all damage, and support accurate repair planning. You will document issues and help coordinate between estimators, body techs, and insurers to ensure efficient workflows.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and adherence to manufacturer standards while supporting cost-effective repairs and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year collision repair experience required.
  • I-CAR Certification in body repair and welding preferred.
  • OEM certification and knowledge of manufacturer repair processes highly valued.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate vehicles legally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality vehicle repairs as outlined on repair orders per standards.
  • Communicate repair progress and requirements with teammates.
  • Complete welding, frame/unibody alignment, body panel repairs, and cosmetic work.
  • Operate frame machines and shop equipment safely and efficiently; follow PPE rules.
  • Conduct QC inspections upon completion of work.
  • Mix chemicals per manufacturer specifications.
  • Adapt to a blueprint-style production model; may not disassemble vehicles personally.

As part of the Open Road Collision group DBA Drury Moss Collision, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality collision repair services with exceptional customer care. Our team is dedicated to restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while making the repair process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our customers. We're currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Discovery Technician.

Discovery Technicians play a critical role in the repair process by performing detailed vehicle inspections to identify all damage resulting from a collision. This position supports accurate repair planning, ensures proper documentation of damage, and facilitates a seamless workflow between estimators, body technicians, and insurance partners. The Discovery Technician acts as a bridge between disassembly and estimation, ensuring no damage goes unnoticed and contributing to safe, thorough, and cost-effective repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality vehicle repairs as outlined on repair orders in line with manufacturer and industry standards
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding repair progress and requirements
  • Complete welding, frame/unibody alignment, body panel repairs, and cosmetic work
  • Operate frame machines and other shop equipment safely and efficientlyFollow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Conduct Quality Control (QC) inspections upon completion of work
  • Mix chemicals and materials per manufacturer specifications
  • Adapt to a blueprint-style production model—may not disassemble vehicles personally
