Job summary

Novartis in San Diego invites applications for the Discovery Postdoctoral Fellow within DARe to pursue an independent project at the interface of aging, immunity, and tissue regeneration.

The fellow will design experiments using organoid systems, single-cell profiling, in vivo models, and collaborate across disciplines, with mentorship and opportunities to publish and present internationally. This is a full-time position for up to three years; US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) completed before the fellowship start date.
• Strong scientific background in immunology, aging biology, regenerative biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cell biology, or related discipline.
• Ability to conduct mechanistic studies to generate, test, and validate biological hypotheses.
• Demonstrated record of scientific achievement and ability to independently drive research projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute independent, hypothesis-driven research programs aligned with strategic disease biology questions.
• Develop and apply advanced in vitro and in vivo model systems to investigate aging-immune interactions.
• Design, perform, and interpret molecular, cellular, and in vivo experiments to uncover aging-related tissue dysfunction mechanisms.
• Develop innovative experimental approaches to study tissue regeneration, aging, and cellular plasticity.
• Communicate findings through publications, meetings, and conferences.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regenerative biology, immunology, data science, and translational research.
