Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years related labor relations/discipline experience may be considered.
• 2 years experience conducting discipline hearings or investigations in a railroad or heavily unionized environment.
• Experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements and preparing notices/reports.
• Knowledge of labor relations principles, discipline, grievance handling, and contract administration.
• Knowledge of Railway Labor Act principles and railroad dispute resolution.
• Ability to act as a fact finder and manage contentious proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and conduct discipline hearings.
• Review charges and hearing notices; confirm timelines, notice, and representation requirements.
• Open and preside over proceedings; maintain order and neutrality; gather evidence.
• Rule on procedural matters; question witnesses; ensure record accuracy.
• Coordinate hearing dates, locations, participants, court reporters, and transcripts.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Administer and maintain the hearing process and confidential case files.
• Develop clear written findings and recommendations; route records for appeal.
