Valeo, a global mobility tech leader, seeks a Software Design Leader to drive embedded software across a major automotive project. You will oversee budget, quality, and delivery while guiding discipline designers to implement robust design solutions.

You should have a bachelor’s in engineering and 3-5+ years in embedded software, with MISRA and ISO26262/SOTIF knowledge. This is a full-time, on-site role offering cross-functional collaboration at Valeo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 3-5+ years of work experience in embedded software, ideally in automotive.
• Strong experience in Embedded C & C++ development.
• Good knowledge of MISRA and cybersecurity standards.
• Experience writing tests, debugging, and using test/documentation tools.
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE and ISO26262/SOTIF standards.

Responsabilités

• Budget: manage software project budget and align with discipline budgets.
• Lead QCD performance and ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Oversee software technical reviews and corrective actions.
• Drive design solutions and promote reuse within the project.
• Lead QRQC and rapid resolution of technical issues.
• Mentor discipline designers and drive team development.

About the Role:

As a Software Design Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Budget: Responsible for Project Budget execution: Execute the software budget within the assigned project, ensuring alignment with the overall project budget and software Discipline budget guidelines provided by the software Engineering Manager of the entity.
• Support Operations: Responsible for Project Discipline QCD Management: Lead the team responsible for Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of the software discipline within the assigned project, adhering to standardized methodologies, software project dashboard and KPIs defined by the Group/Division and followed by the software Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader.
• Responsible for software Technical Review execution and corrective action plan within the project.
• Drive design solutions & reuse within the assigned project.
• Competencies: Support [Discipline Name] Discipline QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control): Identify discipline issues in standard, method, tools, test means for ensuring rapid resolution of technical issues and continuous improvement in design execution
• Responsible for Project QRQC, ensuring management of the correction of major technical issues with the support of the entity software engineering manager and the relevant Experts.
• Support software Competency Development of the design team within the project.
• Efficiency: Execute Software Efficiency Plan within the assigned project.
• Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate with Discipline Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader: Maintain regular communication and alignment with the Discipline Engineering Manager and Discipline Team Leader on budget performance, design execution, quality control, and efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D Technical Project Leader: Work closely with the R&D Technical Project Leader to ensure seamless integration of the software design within the overall project plan, timeline, and technical specifications.
• Lead and Mentor Discipline Designers: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to Discipline Designers working on the project, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You Should Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
• 3-5+ years of work experience in the field of embedded software engineering, ideally in the automotive industry.
• Strong experience in Software development using Embedded C & C++
• Good knowledge of industry coding standards (MISRA ,CyberSecurity ..,etc)
• Good knowledge of writing tests, debugging , knowledge in documentation and test tools.
• Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®)
• Knowledge of ISO26262/SOTIF Functional Safety Standards
