Job summary

BMS CAT & Blackmon Mooring is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for reconstruction projects and support business development. The role partners with adjusters, clients, and internal teams to ensure projects are properly scoped, priced, and executed successfully.

Qualifications

• Experience in restoration and estimating is required.
• Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software is required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.

Responsibilities

• Market to potential customers, including national accounts, adjusters, and end users.
• Build and maintain a network of qualified subcontractors across multiple trades.
• Meet with prospects and provide estimates for rebuilding structures after a loss.
• Assess project scope and prepare detailed, accurate estimates.
• Review estimates with insurance representatives and customers, obtain approvals, and initiate project documentation.
• Maintain clear communication and coordinate schedules with operations through project completion.
• Communicate with local management regarding project updates and any issues.
• Ensure quality standards are met and resolve any issues promptly.
• Follow proper protocols related to payment arrangements.
• Follow up with insurance companies and customers to ensure timely collections.
• Prepare reports on activity, progress, follow-up, and performance metrics.
