Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in North Carolina is seeking a Manufactured Home Set Up Worker for the U.S. Rebuild team in Western North Carolina.

You will oversee the safe delivery, placement, and setup of modular homes at disaster sites, coordinating with volunteers and site crews. The role requires a certificate or equivalent experience, ability to obtain a medical card, and preferred trade licenses; a Class A CDL is an asset.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, plus 6–12 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to obtain a driver's medical card is required.
• Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, finish carpentry) preferred.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe delivery, placement, and setup of modular manufactured homes at disaster sites.
• Operate a skid steer, dump truck, or forklift to position and move materials.
• Coordinate with logistics teams, volunteers, and site crews to ensure smooth delivery to completion.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and advise on ramp access, jacking needs, and turnover requirements.
• Ensure installations are safe, sturdy, and code-compliant in coordination with supervisors.

Education

One-year certificate from college or technical school and 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to obtain a driver's medical card (required)

Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred)

Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)
