Job summary

Allegheny County Department of Human Services is seeking a Disaster Response Coordinator to help manage emergency behavioral health and disaster response activities onsite at DHS. You will coordinate EBH efforts, support incident command, and liaise with partner agencies.

The role requires strong organizational skills, data reporting, and the ability to work outside normal hours during crises. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required, along with FBI clearances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in social/case work, outreach, trauma-informed care.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Act 33 and 34 and FBI clearances.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, coordinates, and recruits EBH Team members from DHS, provider agencies, and partners.
• Hosts EBH team meetings and supports disaster training.
• Coordinates crisis support via in person, phone, text, and email.
• Responds to disasters when activated by authorities and partners.
• Supports planning, reporting, and logs for disaster response operations.
• Attends multi-agency coordination meetings and maintains incident logs.
• Backups Safety/Security on-call coverage during holidays or high demand.
