Job summary

Ceres Environmental Operations is seeking a dependable Trimmer (Chainsaw Operation Required) to support vegetation management, storm cleanup, and debris removal in the Asheville, NC area. This hands-on field role reports to the Field Supervisor/Superintendent and offers opportunities to travel as needed.

The position emphasizes safe operation of small chainsaws, physical endurance, and teamwork to restore and maintain communities. Competitive hourly pay with benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Minimum one year of outdoor labor, landscaping, vegetation management, construction, or related field experience.
• Experience operating a small chainsaw and other basic landscaping or vegetation management tools.
• Ability to work safely in physically demanding outdoor environments.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate small chainsaws and hand tools to cut limbs, branches, and other vegetative debris safely and efficiently.
• Rake, gather, and remove vegetation and debris from work areas.
• Load and unload branches, limbs, brush, and related materials onto trucks and trailers.
• Assist crews with storm recovery, vegetation management, and debris removal projects.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of chainsaws, hand tools, and related equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and site-specific requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to promote operational efficiency and public safety.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding work progress and site conditions.
• Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or environmental concerns.
• Support additional field operations and cleanup activities as assigned.
