Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a qualified professional to support disaster recovery as part of the Public Assistance program team. The role serves as a liaison among local, state, and federal agencies, helping applicants with post-disaster grants management through documentation, issue resolution, reports, and site visits.

The position requires the ability to analyze and apply policy, monitor subrecipient documentation for compliance, and interpret laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Experience should include grants management functions.
• S.C. Certified Emergency Manager (or other state equivalent) certification is preferred or will seek to complete within three years.
• Ability to navigate online systems and processes including databases. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supports disaster recovery in South Carolina as a member of the PA program team.
• Liaises among local, state, and federal program agencies implementing the PA program.
• Assists applicants with post-disaster recovery grants management functions including project documentation, question/issue resolution, quarterly reports, and site visits.
• Provides detailed reports of individual activities and progress.
• Monitors accuracy and status of subrecipient documentation to ensure compliance with federal regulations and timelines.
• Researches and interprets federal, state, and local law, regulation, and policies.
• Provides recommendations to PA program leadership on issues that require action or attention.
• Works independently and prioritizes work assigned.
• Effectively communicates with program stakeholders.
• Exercises judgment and decision making.
