Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate, defendable cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work, and validate project scopes.

This on-call role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project requirements. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in estimating and strong analytical, communication, and multi-team collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related field.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, project scope development, and construction inspection.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through project scoping, damage assessment, and cost estimating.
• Perform site inspections of damaged facilities and infrastructure to understand damages and restoration requirements.
• Develop and validate disaster recovery project scopes and cost estimates.
• Prepare cost analyses for roads, bridges, utilities, buildings, and other public infrastructure.
• Provide technical estimating expertise to project managers and applicant representatives.
• Maintain project records and documentation per client and program requirements.
