This hybrid role manages project cost accounting and helps design, launch, and administer a rebate program that puts recovery funds directly into residents' hands. You will track costs across multiple projects, establish cost codes and job cost structures, coordinate with managers, auditors, and partner agencies, and prepare financial reports and dashboards for leadership.

Qualifications

• ≥10 years cost accounting or public program financial management experience, incl. ≥5 years in government/public-sector accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience tracking and reconciling costs across multiple projects and funding sources.
• Experience establishing cost codes, job cost structures, cost capture procedures.
• Experience developing rebate/grant/incentive programs with eligibility and payment tracking.
• Experience designing internal controls for audit readiness.
• Experience preparing financial reports, dashboards, briefing materials.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with governmental financial systems.
• Ability to handle confidential applicant and financial information.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to explain rules to public/internal staff.
• Ability to coordinate with project managers, finance staff, auditors, and partner agencies.
• Must live in or relocate to the Los Angeles, CA area.

Responsabilités

• Track and reconcile project costs, budgets, encumbrances, and expenditures across multiple projects and funding sources
• Establish cost codes, job cost structures, and procedures for consistent cost capture
• Help design and administer a rebate program, including eligibility criteria, workflows, and payment tracking
• Build internal controls that prevent duplicate or ineligible payments and keep the program audit-ready
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for management and oversight bodies
• Explain program rules clearly to the public and internal staff
• Coordinate with project managers, finance staff, auditors, and partner agencies
