Job summary

Alamance County Government is seeking an Emergency Management Analyst to develop and evaluate plans for preparedness, response, recovery, and hazard mitigation. You will research disaster scenarios, write response plans, and weave them into the county's comprehensive plan while coordinating with local officials during major operations.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in emergency management or related field with related experience; candidate must hold NC driver’s license and be prepared

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in emergency management or related field with two years of related experience.
• Experience includes decision-making, plan writing, training, exercise, and active participation in response, mitigation, preparedness, and recovery.
• Must have NC driver’s license and ability to teach Emergency Management Programs and conduct public outreach; HazMat Ops cert preferred; 300 level credential; NC EM Associate Manager within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and evaluates plans, policies and procedures for special emphasis emergency programs.
• Researches and writes response plans for specific disasters (hazmat spills, severe weather, SAR, nuclear, terrorism).
• Incorporates emergency plans into the county's comprehensive plan.
• Participates in major response and recovery operations.
• Continuously evaluates plans and communicates changes to local officials.
• Complies with the Public Health Addendum for healthcare preparedness coordination.
• On-call availability during emergencies.
