Job summary

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management seeks a VEST Coordinator of Human Services to ensure human services integration within the VEST and coordinate programs, resources and partnerships for disaster response and recovery. Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency management principles, ICS/NIMS, and state coordination structures.
• Experience with access and functional needs, disability integration, and accessibility requirements.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to DOIA.
• Knowledge of human services programs, functions, and key partners.
• Familiarity with emergency management principles and operations.
• Experience with data analysis and presenting statistical information.
• Ability to create actionable guidance for state and local emergency managers.
• Experience and commitment to AFN principles.
• Experience delivering trainings
• Ability to prioritize and manage complex projects or initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with partners to ensure VEST human services integration.
• Lead equity workgroup and provide staffing to the State Coordinator’s Office.
• Develop and implement policy and procedures supporting the VEST centered on disaster-related human services.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local partners on program coordination.
