Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is hiring Debris Monitors to help monitor debris removal in Kauai, Hawaii. This on-site role requires no prior experience; training will be provided.

You will serve as the on-site monitor for debris removal and possibly disposal, with a focus on safety and accuracy. The position is temporary, paid weekly, with 10–12 hour days 5–6 days a week, supporting disaster recovery efforts. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, clean MVR, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for full-day use.
• Clean driving record and eligibility for MVR check.
• Availability to work 5-6 days per week, ~10–12 hours daily.
• I-9 documentation for employment verification; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loading activities of trucks and equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Record truck loads, vehicle types, and debris classifications accurately.
• Monitor traffic in designated areas and verify contractor debris scope.
• Interact professionally with contractors, officials and the public.
• Ensure debris is collected and roadways are cleared before contractors proceed.
• Provide regular briefings on activities and progress to supervisor.
