Job summary

The FEMA Region One Mission Support in Maynard, Massachusetts seeks a GS-13 telecommunications leader with disaster operations experience to guide interagency partners and manage staff.

The ideal candidate will oversee strategic communications, interoperability, and asset deployment across response, recovery, and continuity operations, while supervising telecom staff and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• One full year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal government.
• Experience providing strategic guidance to senior leadership and interagency partners on disaster emergency communications requirements.
• Experience supervising telecommunications staff, prioritizing assignments, reviewing work, and improving communications programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership and interagency partners on disaster emergency communications requirements, including operational and tactical systems, interoperability, readiness, and asset deployment.
• Lead multi-jurisdictional communications initiatives, working groups, plans, projects, and exercises to strengthen standards and command, control, and communications capabilities across all operating phases.
• Supervise telecommunications staff by prioritizing assignments, reviewing performance, identifying training needs, and addressing administrative issues.
