Job summary

VIVE Collision in Worcester, MA seeks a Disassembly & Reassembly Technician to disassemble vehicles, inspect for hidden damage, and assess components after initial estimates. You will document findings and assist estimators in building a 100% repair plan.

Responsibilities include following the company disassembly procedures, recording additional damage and required parts, and coordinating with the production team to reassemble vehicles and replace final moldings and trim.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Auto Body Vo-Tech certification preferred.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, estimates and work orders.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Disassemble vehicles after initial estimate and inspect for internal damage.
• Document additional damage and required parts on damage reports.

Job description

The Disassembly& ReassemblyTechnicianis responsible fordisassembling, inspecting, and assessing vehicles foradditionalor hidden damage.Once the vehicle is ready, the technicianwill reassemble the vehicle.

Job Requirements

• Followthecompany blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicleinspections
• Disassemble vehicles after theinitialestimate, inspect all vehicles for internal structure and parts from theinitialinspection (estimate),andidentifyadditionaldamage
• Complete disassembly ofthevehicle toassistestimators in assessing damage to prepare a 100% repairplan
• Document and recordadditionaldamage andrequiredparts on a damage report (including blend panels, small parts, on-time use fasteners,moldings, etc.).
• Notify the productionmanager/estimatorregardingsupplements based onadditionaldamage/partsdiscovered
• Assistthe metal technician with reassembly upon completion of the repair, asneeded
• Reassemble vehicle – replace final moldings, trim,and detailpieces
• Perform assigned dutiessafely and responsiblythat does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk ofinjury
• Other duties asassigned

Skills & Qualifications

• At leastoneyear of auto body repair experience
• Must be at least 18 years ofage
• HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification stronglypreferred
• Ability to effectively communicate withothers
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and workorders
• Multi-tasking; adapt easily to fast-pacedenvironments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pull
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
• Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
