Job summary

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred one-on-one support across the North Shore region, including travel to group homes. The role is permanent part time (30 hours/week) with day shifts 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, based in Hornsby Heights.

You will assist with daily living, social engagement, and community participation, supporting independence and skill development, while following individual support plans and collaborating with families

Role Purpose

The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities.

About The Clients

As a Disability Support Worker, you will support clients living with a range of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities. Some clients may also present with complex needs and behaviours of concern.

Role Overview

Join the Lifestyles Home and Community team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability. This rewarding role involves providing one-on-one home and community support to clients aged 18–80, promoting independence and helping them achieve their goals through community engagement and daily living support.

This role is based across the North Shore region, requiring travel to our group homes. The position is permanent part time (30 hours per week) and offers day shifts from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Must be available to work Monday - Friday.

You will assist with daily living skills, social engagement, and community participation, including personal care (where required), manual handling, medication support (if trained), behaviour support strategies, and 1:1 or small group support.

Each day, you will encourage independence, build skills and confidence, promote inclusion, support participant choice, facilitate activities and outings, follow individual support plans, document progress, and work collaboratively with families and allied health professionals.
