Job summary

Lone Star College System is seeking a PT Disability Services Provider to support students with qualifying conditions by facilitating accommodations and promoting student retention. You will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, educate students and staff on available services, and help create an inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities include intake interviews, advising on documentation, liaising with faculty, and maintaining confidential records while supporting

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in student services and accommodations is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews, reviews supporting documentation, and determines appropriate accommodations for students with qualifying conditions in accordance with state and federal regulations and LSC policy
• Advises students with qualifying conditions on the process for obtaining accommodations, including determining documentation requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Develops and maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
• Assists with resolving student and faculty conflicts regarding accommodations and advises on appropriate course of action as needed
• Serves as a liaison to faculty in the divisions to provide academic support to students with disabilities
• Provides academic, career, and disability-related support to new and continuing students with disabilities to promote student learning, development, and attainment of educational and career goals. May also provide academic and career support to other students outside of the Disability Services Office as needed
• Provides support services focused on the retention of at-risk students working with the Disability Services Office, including socially and economically disadvantaged, academically underprepared, non-traditional, and returning students. May also provide retention and student success support to other students as needed
• Provides campus and community partner presentations related to Disability Services
• Maintains confidential student disability records and documentation in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and LSC policy
• Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
